Bongi Mbonambi is one of no less than five official Test captains in the Springboks’ World Cup squad and his leadership up front will be pivotal to the team’s Rugby World Cup campaign in France.

He might be playing second fiddle to the industrious Malcolm Marx, but that doesn’t mean that Mbonambi is any less important to the Springboks’ cause. With his stats reading 12 tries in 61 Tests for South Africa, it’s clear to see why the 32-year-old is heading to a second World Cup.
