The Blitzboks face almost certain early elimination from this weekend’s Singapore Sevens after being hammered by Australia in their opening pool match.

As reported first by The South African website, the Springbok Sevens side were drawn in a ‘Group of Death’ in Singapore, alongside the Wallabies, All Blacks and Hong Kong.
Australia blanked the Blitzboks 19-0 in their opening match, meaning the Blitzboks will almost certainly need to bounce back and beat New Zealand later on Saturday morning.
That appears almost impossible.

The All Blacks beat Hong Kong 47-0 in their opener.
The Springboks Sevens side will take on Hong Kong at 07:40 (SA time) on Saturday before concluding their pool play against the All Blacks at 11:28 (SA time).
