THIS IS HOW STRONG SPRINGBOK RUGBY PLAYERS ARE

Cast your mind back to 2012 when Etzebeth and Kitshoff were playing for the Stormers. The team was preparing for the upcoming season by doing gym work, according to YouTube channel the DiscussionSpot.

The lock and loosehead prop were doing dumbbell bench presses with the largest weights in the gym: 65 kilograms. The pair were repping them dumbbells with ease and snuck into the Stormers physio’s room and strapped two five kilogram plates to the dumbbells.

When physio noticed the weights missing from their room and saw Etzebeth and Kitshoff’s DIY dumbbells, he promptly ordered a set 70kg and 75kg dumbbells for the team.

To put that weight into perspective of how strong the Springbok players are. The duo could dumbbell press the equivalent in weight of a washing machine and seven car tyres simultaneously.

Etzebeth and Kitshoff both weigh over 120kg.

ETZEBETH AND KITSHOFF’S SPRINGBOK ACCOLADES

Etzebeth currently plays for the Sharks in South Africa and has been capped by the Springboks over 100 times, winning two Rugby World Cups in 2019 and 2023.

Kitshoff plays for Ulster in Ireland and also has two Rugby World Cup winners medals. But we’ll never forget how strong these two beasts are.
