After a successful trip to the Free State, Kaizer Chiefs are back home where they will host Chippa United at FNB Stadium on Saturday, in one of two afternoon fixtures.

The Soweto giants left it until late on Wednesday, when they grabbed a last minute winner against Free State Stars at Goble Park – snatching three points to move from fourth to third on the table.

The title race may be an uphill climb for Steve Komphela’s men as they sit six points of rivals, Orlando Pirates, with only a handful of games remaining, but they will no doubt want to give it a solid go.

Form guide

They come up against a side who have struggled this season, languishing at the bottom half of the table at 13th place with just six wins collected in 25 games.

The Chilli Boys have found victories hard to come by in the latter stages of their campaign, winning just once in their last six outings.

Their last game ended in defeat as they went down 2-0 to log leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus.

For Chiefs, the midweek victory puts a bit of gloss in what has been a disappointing period.

The Glamour Boys have won just twice in their six most recent matches, collecting eight points in the process, while finding the net only four times.

Head to head

Clashes between these two sides almost always produce a winner, with only one in their 10 previous encounters ending in a stalemate.

Since their first met in 2012, Chippa’s first foray into the top flight, Chiefs have won six times while the Port Elizabeth-based side have triumphed three times – all three coming in the last three seasons.

Kick off

The match will kick off at 15:00 (SAST)

TV and live stream

The live broadcast will be on Supersport 4 (SS4), with the build-up starting at 14:00.
