The Springboks were in the house to watch a nail bitting 2-1 victory for PSG against Ligue 1 rivals Lille on Friday evening

Lille almost flipped the script

Lille, who are the defending champions of Ligue 1 after clinching the much coveted titles which had seemingly belonged to PSG over the past decade, stunned their hosts and possibly the onlooking Springboks, by going in front in the 30th minute.

PSG eventually got the desired result

But in the end, PSG would not allow themselves to slip up in front of the Springboks, and the home side would end up channeling the energy of champions as they managed to claw themselves back before eventually completing a commendable come back, with Argentinian international Angel Di Maria firing home the winner in the 88th minute.

Springboks seized the moment

After the game, a few Springboks, who are clear football supporters were seen taking pictures behind the scenes. The likes of captain Siya Kolisi were seen taking pictures with legendary French international and Arsenal forward Thierry Henry, while loose head prop Ox Nche as a Liverpool fan, just like Kolisi, was not about to pass up on the opportunity to take a photo with former Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.

PSG themselves then took to their social media platforms to confirm the presences of the Springboks at the Parc des Princes.

“Great to see the

, who were invited by President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to the Parc des Princes to attend #PSGLOSC!” PSG’s official English Twitter account captioned their photo.

The Springboks in the picture with the PSG President Al-Khelaifi included Kolisi, Nche, Elton and Herschel Jantjies, Lukhanyo Am, Aphelele Fassi and Bongi Mbonambi.

The Springboks had stopped over in France, the destination of the next Rugby World Cup in 2023, to participate in some tournament activities as the defending world champions ahead of their End of year tour.
