An away win to move to the summit of the PSL log has given Orlando Pirates fans a reason to smile, but coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic is not yet pleased with the manner in which his charges have achieved the feat.

The Buccaneers bounced back from a disappointing midweek result – where they squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at home to Cape Town City – with a 2-1 victory against Baroka at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

The win, along with Bidvest Wits fluffing their lines, propelled them to the top of the standings, having played eight games and only managing to win half of them so far.

Cape Town City draw haunts Orlando Pirates

The Serb still rues the second-half implosion at Orlando Pirates last Wednesday and has conceded that his charges would have opened up some daylight between themselves and the competition had they closed out the game.

“In four matches including Black Leopards, we scored practically nine goals and when you have that in mind, it is something what is not still satisfactory,” Sredojevic is quoted by KickOff.

“We are not satisfied with where we are. We are always looking to improve and get better because this is demand from our supporters and the badge and this is what we need to do therefore, we believe that we still have space in that regard to improve but much more.

“We have space in order to have perfect emotional control of the game from start to end and this is something that we need to improve.

“For that to happen, we need to iron our defence and tighten it and we need to defend by ball possession much better and when you have that in mind on top of everything scoring what we have scored even more.”

Orlando Pirates take a week-long sabbatical ahead of their next fixture where they will be hosting Golden Arrows at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday, 3 October.
