Brazilian superstar, Neymar was always going to influence football one way or another, but it seems as if his antics in the 2018 World Cup in Russia have seen him change the game in what is not exactly the most desirable manner.

The Paris Saint Germain forward has caught a lot of attention in this year’s edition of the global showpiece event – not through outstanding performances or maybe his flashy haircuts, as many would have expected – but through spending way more time on the turf than the whitewash on it.

The 26-year-old has quickly built a reputation for going to ground rather easily, which has seen him catch a lot of flak, not only on social media but with legends of the game such as Eric Cantona, who couldn’t resist taking a dig at the great player, whom he’s also labelled a “great actor”.

In what is a massive nightmare for anyone who identifies as a lover of the game, the star’s antics seem to be making their way through to the next generation of footballers, who have picked up his nasty habit of diving.

Fortunately, it’s only in jest… well, we can only hope.
