Paarl Rocks vs Jozi Stars

If the first Mzansi Super League match played at Boland Park is anything to go by, then we are in for a treat on Tuesday night as Paarl Rocks welcome Jozi Stars.

Tshwane Spartans were the last visitors to the venue and, along with the hosts, served up a thrilling encounter which was not short of runs nor drama, as the team from the capital emerged victorious, winning by a single run with both teams posting north of 200.

Paarl will be looking to bounce back from that defeat, and will be bolstered by the return of Proteas skipper Faf du Plessis, who could figure in the playing XI after arriving from Australia on Monday morning.

Also in search of their first victory will be the Jozi Stars, who lost their opener on Sunday to the less fancied Nelson Mandela Bay Giants.

Despite boasting proven hitters in their top order such Chris Gayle, Rassie van der Dussen and Dane Vilas, they faltered with the bat as they managed just 124 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs, and will be hoping the men with the willow come to the party on a flat Paarl deck on Tuesday.
