Ntseki outlines Chiefs’ mission for cup tie vs. AmaZulu

Embattled Kaizer Chiefs mentor Molefi Ntseki outlines his mission as they face AmaZulu in the Carling Knockout Cup.

Ntseki says there’s no doubt that Chiefs must do well in cup games as they look to end the eight-year trophy drought.

Speaking on the sidelines after the Carling Cup draw in Johannesburg, Ntseki outlines their mission.

NTSEKI OUTLINES CUP MISSION FOR CHIEFS VS. AMAZULU

While the PSL is yet to announce the prize money and dates for the Last 16, Ntseki doesn’t mince his words per Chiefs’ mission.

“As Kaizer Chiefs, we are looking to strike the balance between performance and results,” said Ntseki.

“We have been playing well, except for winning. We are looking forward to this game in terms of creating balance and playing to win in games.

“Because it is a cup game, you have to play to win. We are doing our own analysis and improving as a team.

“And we are very positive that the understanding in our team is getting better.

“The missing part in our game is that of not scoring goals. It is a tactical element that we are working on every time at training.”

CHIEFS’ MISSION IN CUP GAME AGAINST USUTHU

Wirth Chiefs yet to taste cup glory in eight years, the Naturena-based giants are eyeing to end the undesired drought.

In addition, the former Bafana Bafana mentor says their mission is to do well in the cup games and restore their glory days, but he’s wary of Usuthu.

“As Kaizer Chiefs we are looking forward to doing well in these cup games,” added the Chiefs coach.

“AmaZulu are a good side, we have seen them when we played them at FNB Stadium.

“They have made some interesting signings…If you look and reflect on the game they played against us, they have played a lot after that.

“When they played us, they had not lost or conceded any goal. But on the day we did well, we managed to score goals and win the game.”
