“Our paths are destined to cross” Israel Adesanya responds to Dricus Du Plessis

Israel Adesanya says he is ready to fight Dricus Du Plessis after the South African called him out following his win against Sean Strickland at UFC 297 on Saturday night.

Du Plessis overcame Strickland by a split decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-47) before being crowned the new UFC Middleweight championship.

After his famous win in Toronto, Canada, the 30-year-old Pretoria-born fighter called out former UFC champion Israel Adesanya.

Dricus du Plessis vs Israel Adesanya still on the cards

The two were supposed to face off late last year but du Plessis failed to recover in time and Strickland filled the void.

“This arc in my story was written long ago. Our paths are destined to cross again. Stay tuned for the next episode, thanks for watching. We Write History,” Adesanya wrote on X(Twitter).

Speaking inside the Octagon, Dricus turned his attention to Israel Adesanya, who he was supposed to fight in September last year.

“There was another guy who tried to take away my shine, he lost his shine and now I have your shine. He didn’t get into the cage tonight.

“Israel Adesanya get your **s back in the UFC so we can settle the score,” du Plessis said.
