Following an away draw in their season opener, Kaizer Chiefs are at home on Tuesday as they host 2016/17 PSL champions Bidvest Wits at FNB Stadium.

The Glamour Boys were held by defending champs Mamelodi Sundowns to a 1-1 draw at Loftus on Saturday, as they opened the scoring within the first 10 minutes of the game through a former Downs player, Ramahlwe Mphahlele before conceding a penalty which saw Ricardo Nascimento level matters in the 25th minute.

Giovanni Solinas’ charges now face up against a Bidvest Wits side that would have been way more pleased with their outing on Saturday as Wits convincingly beat Free State Stars 3-0 at Bidvest Stadium to wind up early pace-setters at the top of the table.

Kaizer Chiefs will be boosted by finally acquiring the services of Madagascar international striker Andriamirado Andrianarimanana, who’s protracted transfer was finally made official today after he was initially unveiled during the off-season.

Bidvest Wits, on the other hand, will be encouraged by the fitness of captain Thulani Hlatshwayo, who spent much of last season injured. The defender announced his return to full fitness with a goal on Saturday as he opened the scoring.

That along with the fact that the other two goals in their opener were scored by new signings in Mxolisi Macuphu and Deon Hotto will give an air of optimism in The Clever Boys’ camp.

Kaizer Chiefs vs Bidvest Wits: Head to head

Last season saw both league fixtures end in an identical result as the two teams held each other to a one-all draw on both occasions.

In their last five encounters, Kaizer Chiefs have been the more dominant side, winning two while Bidvest Wits have won once.

Kick off: 19:30

TV and live stream: The game will be broadcast live on Supersport 4.
