Chiefs lose in Tanzania but Ntseki optimistic about future

Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki is optimistic about the future despite losing 1-0 to Young Africans of Tanzania over the past weekend.

Despite their 1-0 loss to Young Africans of Tanzania over the weekend, Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki is optimistic about the future ahead of the new season in charge of Chiefs.

The new Chiefs coach Ntseki was in charge of the club for the first time in Tanzania as they finalise their preparations for the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

Speaking after the match that was played in front of 60 000 capacity crowd at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Saturday evening in Tanzania, Ntseki is now looking forward to the Chiefs versus Township Rollers match.

CHIEFS LOSE BUT NTSEKI OPTIMISTIC ABOUT FUTURE

The former Bafana Bafana manager, Ntseki has now set his sights on facing Botswana Premier League giants, Township Rollers this coming weekend.

Ntseki reflected on their defeat to Young Africans, suggesting there’s no reason to panic as the match was just a friendly and it’s pre-season for Chiefs.

“Congratulations to the two teams for a good display of football,” Ntseki told Azam TV.

“This being a pre-season, physically and tactically the boys did very well. The new signings did well… in terms of the team’s performance, I am happy.

“If you look at the way we played in the first half and the second half, there is something cooking, there is something we are working on.

“Township Rollers is another important game that we are looking forward to.”

In addition, the former school teacher, Ntseki added that he looked at his team and thought they did well in the opening stanza, saying something is cooking at Chiefs.

“I think if you look at how we played in the first half and how we played in the second, there’s something cooking, there’s something we are working on,” he added.

“In terms of how we play out of possession and in possession, I think we are getting it right.

“Township rollers is another important preparation game we are looking forward to.”

NTSEKI’S CHIEFS MOVE MATCHES AWAY FROM JOZI

Remaining with Chiefs, The South African also posted that in the build-up to the brand new Premiership season, Amakhosi have decided to move away from the FNB Stadium.

According to Unplayable, Ntseki’s side will play three home matches at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The fixtures comprise the newly-promoted Cape Town Spurs in November, TS Galaxy in February as well as SuperSport United next April.
