Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will once again clash this season after they were drawn to face each other in the semi-final of the Nedbank Cup.

The semi-final draw took place immediately after Chiefs’ 2-1 victory over Royal AM.

Visuals from the Chatsworth stadium showed Kaizer Chiefs’ players and management celebrating upon learning that they’ll play Pirates. After the video went viral on social media on Monday, many thought Chiefs were jumping the gun given the fact that they needed an extra-time penalty to see off Royal Am in the quarter-finals.

The Glamour Boys have a reason to feel confident though having dominated Pirates in the past two years.

Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane told journalists that his side won’t take Pirates lightly.

“It’s not going to be as easy as everyone thinks because cup games are totally different from league games,” Zwane said.

“But as I said, we treat every game with respect, and unfortunately, this one is not like any other game. There’s a lot at stake once you meet Pirates, you’re expected to be on top of them and make sure that you win the game.”
