The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) administrates all South Africa’s social grants. But what if you have to get in touch with a national or regional contact point? The social security agency has a hotline for quick contact – but you can also reach the SASSA line by going to their website or sending an email.

If you want to know if the system is offline, you are also advised to contact them first.

Here’s everything you should know about complaints and compliments in the social grant system.

SASSA head office

The SASSA head office number can be reached here: +27 80 060 10 11

Head office deals with all national complaints, but might also refer complaints and questions to a regional office. The head office number is the one to call if you’d like to know anything about your grant, its application, its payment (or non-payment), or the social grant system.

If you aren’t sure what to do next when applying for (or collecting) a social grant, call head office.

SASSA regional offices

The social security agency also maintains regional offices, which adminstrate complaints and social grants for each individual location. Regional offices are in every South African province, and can deal with most compliments and complaints near where you live.

If you would like to get in touch with a regional office, then you have to look for your nearest office on the official website.

Complaints and questions about social grants can also be sent via email to the below address:

There is also a web-form, which you can fill in electronically to submit your complaint or question. The web form can be accessed here.
