Woman, 29, arrested for allegedly KILLING her boyfriend

A 29-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the neck and was arrested by SAPS members on Saturday.

A 29-year-old woman was arrested by the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Swartkops, Gqeberha.

The couple allegedly got into an argument in the early hours of the morning

The woman is accused of murdering her 38-year-old boyfriend. SAPS spokesperson in the Eastern Cape Captain Gerda Swart said the couple allegedly had an argument at 1:30 on the morning of Saturday, 27 August.

The argument occurred at a residence in Debe Street, Wells Estate. It is alleged that the 29-year-old woman stabbed her boyfriend in his neck. The 38-year-old man died at the scene.

“It is further alleged that the girlfriend took a knife and stabbed the man in his neck. The 38-year-old man passed away on the scene and the female suspect was arrested outside the residence,” said Swart.

Investigations are ongoing and the woman is expected in court soon

The woman was arrested outside the Debe Street residence. SAPS stated that the victim’s name will only be released after his next-of-kin has been informed about his death.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing as the motive for the murder has not been established.

The woman is expected to appear before the Motherwell Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 29 August. She will be facing a charge of murder.

Police: Limpopo man allegedly stoned his 17-year-old girlfriend to death

Meanwhile, it was reported that a 23-year-old man was arrested for the alleged murder of a 17-year-old girl in Kome Village, in the Nebo policing area. South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson in Limpopo, Lieutenant-Colonel Mamphaswa Seabi, said the incident occurred on Saturday, 20 August at approximately 19:00.

According to information provided to the police, the suspect and the victim were walking in Kome Village. She received a phone call and the suspect accused her of cheating on him before allegedly stoning her to death.

The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is tasked with the investigation. The suspect was arrested. He is expected to face a murder charge in the Nebo Magistrate’s Court. Read the full story here.
