Water restored to Gauteng health facilities, one site still faces challenges

The Gauteng Department of Health has announced the successful restoration of water supply to several health facilities in the region following recent disruptions.
This comes after water interruptions occurred because Joburg Water indicated on Tuesday, 5 March, that City Power was conducting site repairs due to damage caused on feeder boards supplying Rand Water’s Eikenhof pump station with electricity. This mainly affected the Soweto and Johannesburg areas.
Hospitals resume services, bringing relief
This morning, services resumed at Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital, Helen Joseph Hospital, and Zola Community Health Centre, bringing relief to both patients and staff.
However, challenges persist at Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital in the West Rand, where water reservoir levels remain critically low. Despite ongoing efforts, full restoration of water supply to this facility has yet to be achieved.
To mitigate the situation, water tankers will continue to deliver water until a permanent solution is implemented.
