Zimbabwean national residing in the United Kingdom (UK) Jean Gasho sparked controversy as she protests at Newcastle Court for her child’s custody.

According to iHarare, Gasho is an author, blogger and activist who has been living in the UK for over 20 years.

Her child was taken by the social services over concerns of ‘neglect and abuse’.

She claims that her child is possessed by a spirit medium, namely her father Never Gasho and that she and her husband are founders of a new religion called Free Worship.

In a video shared on social media Gasho can be seen outside Newcastle Court dressed in traditional gabs and traditional headgear, with her face eerily smeared with black ink as she played Marshall Munhumumwe’s song, Ndibvumbamireiwo, on loud.

She had a basket with an array of weird things, including several photos, which she laid on the ground in front of the court.

“It ends today. You have gone too far, you white people. You snatch away Chaka, do you really know him? Do you know what Chaka eats? Do you know his spirit?” She creamed as quoted by the report.

“I’m sitting here my Chaka, at your favourite watersport. My eyes are closed and I am holding Teddy Chai. He was a gift from your big Sister Nakai the day you were born. Every night you went to bed with Chai. He was always there when you cried. He was there even when you needed something to bang on the walls, that’s how you lost his scaff. As I hold Chai, I can smell you my baby boy, I see you running around me, saying ‘Mum catch me. Mum find me!'”, wrote Jean in a Facebook post.
