Wednesday afternoon saw Parliament come together (not in the United way) for the Presidency Budget Vote. “Presidency” meant that Jacob Zuma had to take to the podium and outline his plans and vision.

The EFF were not there (in protest) but the DA decided they were going to pick up the disruptive slack. As Zuma went through his speech, he was CONSTANTLY heckled by John Steenhuisen and co.

Zuma would say something, pause to take a sip of his water and then turn and look directly at the DA benches, of course, he then did his infamous Zuma laugh. When it was the DA’s turn to speak, they made sure they hit hard.

Mmusi Maimane told the ANC of his amazement that they had the courage to remove the apartheid government but not the courage to remove this one man. He then proudly proclaimed that Zuma may have killed the ANC but they [oposition] won’t let him kill the country.

At one point in his speech, Maimane said that the proposed budget was “for President Gupta”.

This sparked an explosion of outrage from ANC MPs, leading to speaker Baleka Mbete asking Maimane to withdraw the comment.

Then Steenhuisen and Mbete got into it, the speaker told the DA chief whip that he needs “anger management”.

Eventually, Maimane did withdraw the comment. You can check out a bit more of the latest Maimane ANC roast, below.
