Two killed in Centurion head-on collision

Two motorists were declared dead on scene following a serious head-on collision on N1 south near John Vorster in Centurion.

Two motorists have been killed following a head-on collision on the N1 south near John Vorster in Centurion, Gauteng. 

The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday night. 


According to Emer-G-Med, reports from the scene are that two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision. 

Closer inspection found the drivers of both vehicles to have sustained fatal injuries and they were declared dead on arrival of paramedics.

“A female passenger from one of the vehicles suffered serious injuries and was treated and stabilised on scene by Emergency Care Practitioners before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care.”

In a separate incident, thirteen people sustained minor to serious injuries in an accident involving a taxi and a light motor vehicle on the M4 Ruth First Freeway in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, last Saturday.

The first emergency responders who arrived on the scene found a female motorist with severe injuries trapped inside her vehicle.

ALS Paramedics Medical Services spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said paramedics had to use jaws of life to free the woman.

“Paramedics used life-saving interventions to stabilise the woman after using hydraulic rescue equipment to free her from the wreckage. They stabilised the patient on the scene and transported her to a hospital for further medical treatment.

“Emergency responders stabilised twelve taxi passengers also injured in the collision. Paramedics transported the patients to a nearby Durban hospital for further treatment.”
