Suspect arrested after two killed in Zodwa Special School fire
A suspect was arrested after a fire at a Pretoria special needs school claimed the lives of two employees and injured four more.

According to the Gauteng police, a suspect was apprehended after a fire at a Pretoria special needs school claimed the lives of two employees and injured four more.
Masondo stated that the suspect should show up in court soon.

Colonel Mavela Masondo, a police spokesperson, said the man is charged with two charges of murder. In addition, he is accused of arson and attempted murder.
How the fire broke out at the school?
Tshwane Emergency Services Department (TESD) responded to the fire at Zodwa Learners with Special Educational Needs on Wednesday about 10 am.

The collapsed container classrooms were on fire when firefighters arrived, according to TESD spokesperson Thabo Mabaso.
Mabaso stated at the time that “a second body was found later, while a badly burned male body was discovered during the operation.”

Four more people, he claimed, had been brought to the Kalafong Hospital.
The South African Police Services were given the scene to further investigate the conditions that may have caused the explosion and fire after the fire was put out, according to Mabaso.

What does the Executive Council for Education say about this?
Employees of a contractor hired by the school to fix its classrooms were among those slain and hurt.
IOL reported, a member of the executive council for education from Gauteng named Matome Chiloane expressed shock over the fatal tragedy.
“We are shaken by this abrupt gas explosion that has stolen the lives of two employees at Zodwa LSEN School,” Chiloane said.
“The members of the executive council of education, are deeply saddened by this loss and wish to extend our sincerest condolences to the affected families and school community at large. We also wish a speedy recovery to those employees who were injured by this incident.”
