WATCH: EFF Leader Julius Malema calls Elon Musk an ILLITERATE

Julius Malema, leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has called Elon Musk an illiterate after the Tesla CEO criticized the use of the song “Kill the Boer” by EFF supporters.

In a tweet on Monday, Musk said that the song was “hateful and divisive” and that he was “surprised to see” that the EFF was using it.

BREAKING: Methane gas caused deadly JHB explosion

The City of Joburg has announced that the cause of the deadly explosion was methane gas.

The deadly explosion tore through 400 meters of Lilian Ngoyi Street, formerly Bree, in Johannesburg.

City Manager Floyd Brink made the announcement at a press briefing on Wednesday, saying that the results of gas tests taken from within the cavity of the road had confirmed the presence of methane at a level between 5% and 15%.

Joburg CBD explosion: Repairs currently sits at R178 million

Having spent R4 million in professional experts’ services to determine the cause of the Joburg CBD explosion, the City of Johannesburg is now estimating to spent over R100 million on repairs.

During the press briefing earlier today, City Manager Floyd Brink said their rough estimate for repairs currently sits at R178 million.

“This estimate might change once we receive the detailed designs for the entire project.”

Reward offered for info about slain law enforcement officer

The City of Cape Town’s, Mayco member for Safety and Security, Jean Pierre Smith on Monday (31 July 2023) made a public declaration, offering R100 000 reward for information that could lead to the arrest and/or conviction of a suspect following the brutal killing of a 37-year-old Law Enforcement Advancement Programme (LEAP) officer in Mitchells Plain.
