Bloodied clothes found near missing Joslin Smit (6) house

Clothing pieces, allegedly stained with blood, were found near the house of missing Joslin Smith (6). 

Police spokesperson Lt.Col. Malcolm Pojie said police have expanded the search for six-year-old Joslin by dispatching drone operators and search and rescue dogs to the area. 

“Clothing pieces, allegedly stained with blood, were discovered in an open field during random searches conducted on an open field late last night.”

Reminder: MASSIVE fuel price increase expected this week

Brace yourself! South Africans can expect a MASSIVE increase in fuel prices this week.

The Central Energy Fund (CEF) indicated that the increase to 95ULP is noted at R1.20/litre, while the increase to 93ULP is forecast to be R1.15/l. Diesel is showing an increase of about R1.18/l, while illuminating paraffin is set to increase by 63c/l. If realised the increases will result in 95ULP inland costing R24.44/l, and 93ULP inland will be R24.10/l.

March SASSA grant payment can be collected from this week

SASSA has released payment dates for various grant categories, including old age, disability, and children’s grants for MARCH 2024 and you can collect your grants from this week.

This comes after the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) released the payment schedule for the 2024/25 financial year.

According to SASA the first week of the month is reserved for elderly, child, and disability grant payments.

Load shedding for WEEK – here is the updated schedule

Eskom said load shedding will be implemented for the WEEK. Here is your updated schedule.

The power utility said due to the return of some generating units to service since Friday and the sufficient emergency reserves, load shedding will remain suspended until 16:00 on Monday.

Thereafter, Stage 2 load shedding will resume from 16:00 until 05:00 on Tuesday, when load shedding will be suspended again from 05:00 until 16:00.

Four workers perish in KwaZulu-Natal factory fire

Four people were killed in a factory fire on Eagle Road in Missionlands, KwaZulu-Natal.

Skeletal remains were discovered by family and friends of the deceased workers on Saturday, 2 March.

According to private security, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance after the family and friends of the deceased workers formed a search party after they failed to return home after their shift.
