The trial within a trial of the five men accused of killing Senzo Meyiwa resumes at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Monday, 4 March, for closing arguments.

The matter was postponed earlier in February to allow the State to file heads of argument and for the defence to file its response by 1 March.

SENZO MEYIWA MURDER TRIAL RESUMES

The trial within a trial seeks to determine the admissibility of confessions allegedly made by accused 1 Muzi Sibiya and accused 2 Bongani Ntanzi who are among the five men accused of killing Senzo Meyiwa.

During the course of the trial within a trial both Sibiya and Ntanzi took to the witness stand to testify. They both wrapped up their evidence-in-chief.

Five men are on trial at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria for the murder of the soccer star who was killed at the home of his girlfriend and singer Kelly Khumalo on 26 October 2014. Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Fisokuhle Nkani Ntuli.

They face charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances, possession of firearms without a licence and possession of ammunition. All five men pleaded not guilty.
