Bad news for fuel prices in April – Here is the latest

The outlook for fuel prices in South Africa remains mixed. Petrol prices are expected to increase again in April, while diesel prices are projected to decrease.

The mid-month data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF), for the end of week three of March, indicate that petrol prices are showing an under-recovery of around 18 cents per litre. Which is slightly higher than last week. While diesel has an over-recovery of around 32 cents per litre.

Dirco confirms safety of South Africans in Moscow after terrorist attack

Following a terrorist attack at Moscow’s Crocus City Hall, Dirco swiftly reassured the public regarding the safety of South African embassy staff and students in Russia.

Reports have indicated that the terrorist attack resulted in over 130 fatalities and left more than 100 individuals injured.

Joslin Smith: Fourth accused back in the dock on Monday

The fourth accused, Lourentia Lombaard, 32, is expected back in the Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Authorities arrested Lombaard a week ago; now, she is set to join three other accused, including Joshlin’s mother, Racquel “Kelly” Smith, in the matter.

Speaker’s corruption case to be heard in court Monday

The Pretoria High Court will hear corruption-accused Speaker of the National Assembly, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula’s bid to avoid arrest on Monday.

Mapisa-Nqakula approached the courts to prevent any possible arrest for alleged corruption and bribery dating back to when she was Minister of Defence.

A snake catcher caught a MASSIVE Southern African Python weighing 24kg and measuring around 4.8m in length at a house in Port Edward.

The residents of a farmhouse in Port Edward called out South Coast’s snake catcher, Sarel van der Merwe. He rescued the Southern African rock python that had taken up residence in their kitchen.
