South Africa to extradite ESwatini’s most wanted criminal

South Africa is set extradite two fugitives from ESwatini’s to face murder charges in their home country. Both were hiding in KwaZulu-Natal.

South Africa is set to extradite a fugitive back to ESwatini to face prosecution after being arrested in the Durban CBD last.

Co-ordinated efforts between Interpol and Durban Metro police, lead to the arrest of the 33 year old Kenny Tfhwala. who is wanted for armed robbery and the murder of a police officer.

FUGITIVE ARRESTED IN DURBAN CITY CENTRE

According to TimesLive, Tfhwala made a brief appearance at the Durban Magistrate’s Court where his case has been postponed to next Friday.

With knowledge of Tfhwala being in Durban, Metro police were given a detailed description of the suspect. Three suspects were arrested but one matched the description.

Metro police spokesperson, Gugu Sisilana, the suspect is one of ESwatini’s most wanted criminals and has been on the run since December.

The suspect will be deported once documentation has been finalised.

This is the second suspect this month who had picked South Africa as their hiding spot and will be extradited to ESwatini.

The suspect fled his country having after strangling his girlfriend.

Investigations by the police in ESwatini discovered that he was hiding out on a farm in Kokstad.

He has been detained in South Africa since October 2020 awaiting extradition.
