Six bodies in Johannesburg: Suspect to appear in court TODAY

The 21-year-old man linked to the six bodies found in Johannesburg is expected to appear in the local Magistrate’s Court today, 25 October.

The murder case was postponed last week

The bodies are suspected to be that of sex workers but this has yet to be confirmed.

Last week, the case was postponed. This was done for the State to conduct an identity parade. 

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) reportedly admitted that it did not do the necessary work to make sure that the identity parade was done before the case, reports SABC News.

The suspect was the last person seen with one of the victims

The suspect was arrested earlier this month and is still in police custody. This was after the body of a woman was discovered at a building in the CBD in Johannesburg.

Further investigations found FIVE more decomposed bodies. Authorities made their way to the building after there were a number of complaints about a horrible smell coming from it.

This led police to the six bodies.

It’s been reported that the suspect was the last person to have been seen with one of the victims.

Five of the bodies were in a late stage of decomposition

Spokesperson for the South African Police Service (SAPS) Brenda Muridili said that the other five bodies were in a late stage of decomposition.

The bodies will be subjected to forensic analysis for identification.

“The suspect will be charged with six counts of murder and the Provincial Murder and Robbery unit is investigating,” said Muridili.
