Police are searching for a missing five-year-old girl, Maletlhogonolo Hlongwane, from the North West. Here is more information.

A five-year-old girl, Maletlhogonolo Hlongwane, from the North West, is missing. 

FIVE-YEAR-OLD MALETHOGONOLO WENT MISSING ON SUNDAY 

Police spokesperson Colonel Adéle Myburgh said the police in Ventersdorp are searching for Maletlhogonolo, who allegedly went missing on Sunday, 28 April, at about 06:00. 

“She and another sibling, aged three, were left alone at home in Goedgevonden village by their parent, who allegedly went to a local tavern. 

“When the parent arrived home, Maletlhogonolo was nowhere to be found. A case of child neglect is also under investigation against the parent.”

Myburgh stated that they conducted an intensive search around Goedgevonden, but it did not yield positive results.

“Maletlhogonolo was last seen wearing a red tracksuit top, peach trousers, and was barefoot.She is dark in complexion.”

THERE IS NO WAITING PERIOD TO REPORT A MISSING PERSON!

Report a missing person at your nearest police station immediately.

  • Produce a recent photograph of the missing person, if possible.
  • Give a complete description of the missing person’s last whereabouts, clothes that they were wearing, as well as any information that can assist the investigating officer.
  • Complete and sign a SAPS 55(A) form. This form safeguards the SAPS from hoax reports and indemnifies the SAPS to distribute the photograph and information of the missing person.
  • Obtain the investigating officer’s contact details, and send any additional information that might become available.
  • If you find a missing person or if they return voluntarily, promptly notify the investigating officer. Fill out a SAPS 92 form to notify the Bureau of Missing Persons that they can remove the missing person’s report from the circulation system.
