“We look forward to a collaboration and not only at a head office level, but also on regional and local levels across the country, ” said Memela-Khambula.

MINISTER ZULU GIVES INSIGHT ON NEW SOCIAL PLATFORM

Speaking at the launch today, Minister of Social Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu, expressed the desires for this channel.

“We want the DSD beneficiaries to get information first-hand. This platform allows the department to make this possible. We will be having our own studio soon. This is where some of the DSD stories will be told,” she explained, also thanking Ms Lumka Oliphant and her team for coming up with this DSD tv concept.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MAINSTREAM ATTENTION

Furthermore, Minister Zulu said the department won’t be ditching mainstream media. “We want to continue working with mainstream media. I see this platform as a direct line of communication, two-way communication. We have partners; it is those people who have to speak. They need to say what they are doing supported by the Department of Social Development,” she explained.

“I can tell you now that many other departments will want to have a similar platform. This is just the beginning of something bigger to come,” Minister of Social Development Zulu boasted.
