Road works in Camps Bay and Bakoven to be completed in November

The City of Cape Town has urged road users to find alternative routes and its Urban Mobility Directorate will start with road works along Brompton Avenue, Blair Road, Susan Avenue, Platteklip Square, Ingleside Road, Cramond Road, Fiskaal road and Kinnoul Road in the Camps Bay and Bakoven Area this week. 

The road resurfacing project will commence this week and the expected completion date is 10 November 2023.

ROAD WORKS IN CAMPS BAY AND BAKOVEN TO COMMENCE THIS WEEK

The City of Cape Town said the project will include public roadworks and milling, which all forms part of the regular maintenance to prolong the longevity of the City’s road network. 

The resurfacing will be done during the day from 09:00 until 15:00 on weekdays, however, there might be additional work done at night and during weekends, when required.

City of Cape Town Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility Councillor Rob Quintas said residents in the affected areas are expected to have a level of noise pollution during this time and should also note that these dates may change due to unforeseen circumstances.

CITY OF CAPE TOWN URGES MOTORISTS TO FIND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES 

The municipality said traffic moving in both directions will be affected, but there will be flag personnel to direct traffic around the work area. 

“Also note that vehicles parked in the road or obstructing the maintenance work will be moved or towed away. Road users are requested to use alternative routes during this period,” the City of Cape Town said.
