The prime suspect linked to the murder of five Lesotho nationals in September last year has been arrested in Limpopo.
25 year old Tumelo Motlaitlai was arrested alongside four accomplices were arrested at a petrol station after being found in possession of unlicensed firearms and large quantity of ammunition while heading to Mpumalanga.
Further investigations linked Motlaitlai to the brutal murder of the Lesotho nationals who were found with gunshot wounds to the head at an abandoned mine at Bergeneck village outside Polokwane between 26 and 30 September 2022.
Motlaitlai appeared before the Polokwane Magistrates Court facing charges of murder on Friday and abandoned bail application. His case was postponed to 16 August 2023 for further Police investigations.
His accomplices, Joseph Mohape (34), Tebogo Makutwana (26), Barnard Sesioana (32) and Nelson Mavela aged 32, in the charge relating to possession of firearm, will appear before the Naphuno Magistrate court on Thursday, for their bail hearing.
