Police said the Free State couple was nabbed while driving near Gqeberha a few hours after the double murder on Thursday 23 September.
The bodies of Johannes Van Vuuren (80) and of his daughter, Dorothia Van Staden (58), were discovered with head and body wounds in the courtyard of their Free State house. The two deceased are said to be the mother and grandfather of the 36-year-old female suspect.
The house was found ransacked with household items such as TV sets and computers missing.
