The fastest 100 m by a quadrupedal robot is 19.87 seconds and was achieved by KAIST Dynamic Robot Control and Design (DRCD) Laboratory (South Korea) at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Daejeon, South Korea, on 26 October 2023.

HOUND, a quadrupedal robot developed by KAIST DRCD LAB, completed the task of starting from a stationary position, crossing a pre-measured 100-meter distance, and coming to a standstill.

All these movements were achieved with a single controller trained in the simulation through reinforcement learning.
