Julius Malema knows his way around a turntable, so perhaps a visit to Ibiza – the party capital of Europe – was always on the cards for the EFF leader. Juju has been seen knocking back the spirits and ‘rocking his jockeys’ during a trip to the Spanish island.
What is Julius Malema doing in Ibiza?
Although it’s not immediately clear what brought Malema to the Balearic territory, he certainly made the most of his time there. The political firebrand kept the South African flag waving high, after he was spotted hanging out with Major League DJz
The amapiano act have made waves with their unique sounds, and were recently invited to perform a host of shows across Europe. However, very few people would have anticipated that their special guest would be one of Mzansi’s most controversial public figures.
Juju lives the high-life during visit to Spain
In one video, posted to Instagram by another SA attendee in Avinash Nair, the group could be seen drinking hard liquor and chilling on sofas. The camera pans to Julius Malema, who is seen with a beaming grin and something suspiciously alcoholic in his glass.
The EFF leader hasn’t always advocated for alcohol – and he previously credited ‘dropping the booze’ for his recent weight loss. Malema’s critics will also be quick to point out that partying in Ibiza, while championing causes for the poor, is ‘not very socialist’ of him.

However, Juju is no stranger to criticism, and it’s hard to imagine him being bothered by anything the detractors have to say while he’s enjoying himself to this extent…
