Erm, are you a little lost there, buddy? A van driver in Durban has been accused of recklessly endangering the safety of shoppers at the Galleria Mall, after he drove through the mall and waded through dozens of bystanders. The man behind the wheel was also allegedly drunk at the time.
His careless careering through the narrow walkways of the mall has to be seen to be believed. One onlooker states the driver was ‘lucky not to hit anyone’, and based on this evidence, we’re inclined to agree.
The van itself belongs to the eThekwini Municipality’s electricity company. After getting lost on his way out of the parking lot, it’s understood the impatient motorist decided to take a route he knew better.
The problem is, it was a highly illegal maneuver. His struggle to find an exit gate ends when he finally makes it to the other side of the mall. Just for a treat, he hoots his horn as he finally leaves the facility for good.
Apparently this Ethekwini Municipality employee was drunk in search of an exit boom gate then decided to drive to the side that he knows and remember through the top level of Galleria Mall????????????♀️????????only in SA… As he hoots when he finds his exit. Classics pic.twitter.com/GIhSlG7nuY

The footage was also shared to Facebook by security company, eThekwini Secure, on Friday morning.
Debate rages on about whether this manic motorist was actually intoxicated or not, with many commenting on the accuracy of his driving skills in such a tight area. However, whatever his level of sobriety, this isn’t the sort of cavalier attitude we should be seeing from any of our municipal workers. Mall security is now investigating the incident.
