24 injured after truck crashes into a stationary taxi on N3, KZN

Twenty four people were injured when a truck crashed into a minibus taxi on the N3 outside Ladysmith in KZN.

Twenty four people were injured when a truck rear-ended a stationary taxi on the N3 outside Ladysmith in KwaZulu Natal (KZN). 

The incident reportedly happened on Saturday morning, ER24 paramedics and Provincial EMS attended the scene. 

SCORES INJURED ON N3  IN KZN

Paramedics reportedly found a large truck lying on its side across the slow and emergency lane while a taxi was a short distance away. Several people were found seated along the roadside.

According to ER24, medics assessed the patients and found that twenty four people had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found.

“The patients were treated, and four were provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

‘The exact details surrounding this incident are unknown, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.”

BUS OVERTURNS IN MBOMBELA

In a separate incident, sixty people were injured in a bus accident on the R37 Lydenberg Road in Mbombela on Thursday morning.

According to Emer-G-Med emergency service, on arrival on the scene, a passenger liner was found to have left the roadway and overturned.

“A total of sixty people were injured ranging from minor to moderate and were treated and stabilized on the scene before being taken to various nearby hospitals for further medical care.”

No fatalities were reported.
