McKenzie ‘begged’ by journalists to conduct interviews again

Patriotic Alliance leader Gayton McKenzie has decided to retract his stance to snub South African media houses for interviews.

WHY GAYTON MCKENZIE DECIDED TO SNUB SA MEDIA?

This after he recently cut ties with South African media houses after accusing journalists of unfair coverage.

He was under the view that the South African media is not interested in his views or vision but simply seeks to portray him as his past. Hitting the final nail in the coffin was the interview between McKenzie and Dr Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh on SABC political programme, Unfiltered, which received backlash and underwhelming reviews.

GOOD JOURNALISTS REACH OUT TO PA PRESIDENT

Updating the Patriots, McKenzie shared his reasons to give journalists a chance to do interviews with him again.

“In the days since I decided not to give any more personal media interviews I’ve been overwhelmed with messages from good journalists telling me they understand my stance but they’re really saddened by it,” he said.

“I’ve realised it’s wrong to dismiss all ‘media’ as though it’s one thing.”

TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO CONDUCT INTERVIEWS WITH PA LEADER

McKenzie said as a result, his been persuaded to go back to giving interviews, but it comes with conditions.

“…the recent blitz of just saying yes to anyone and their dog will be moderated by the reflection that one should try to talk to people who want to listen. I’m not here to be liked. I’m here to fix the country,” he explained,

McKenzie self-corrects after blocking all media houses.

“I was wrong. There are many good, honest journalists out there, and one cannot be made to pay for the sins of another. People outside PA circles must also hear the PA message of hope,” he reasoned.
