Mark Pilgrim’s death is a huge loss for SA: UIM

The United Independent Movement (UIM) says the death of Mark Pilgrim is a huge loss for our nation but also a reminder of how he inspired many cancer patients with his big smile and bravery in fighting against this disease.

MARK PILGRIM FOUGHT BACK BRAVELY

The United Independent Movement (UIM) President Neil de Beer said Mark Pilgrim was brave until the end.

The 53-year-old popular South African radio presenter tragically lost his brave and lengthy battle against cancer on Sunday, 5 March 2023. His fiancée Adrienne Watkins was at his side.

As reported by The South African website, the Hot102.7fm DJ Pilgrim proposed to his partner Adrienne Watkins on New Year’s Eve last year.

UIM PRESIDENT SAID PILGRIM’S DEATH IS A LOSS TO ALL

Pilgrim was fighting aggressive stage four cancer with every fiber of his being. Pilgrim had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which he revealed back in June 2022 had spread to his femur, the base of his spine, and lymph nodes.

“Mark Pilgrim was an optimist, always ready for the next challenge, and we will forever remember him for his smile. He fought cancer with bravery and a positive attitude,” says De Beer.

MARK WAS AN OPTIMIST, ALWAYS READY FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE

He said Pilgrim would be remembered for his strong will, his love for life itself, and his positive attitude.

“The UIM family is saddened by the death of Mark Pilgrim. We send our sincere condolences to his family and friends and all those who loved him dearly,” says De Beer.
