Police have arrested a man for the kidnapping and murder of 26-year-old Venolia Skosana whose body was found in a river

A 40-year-old man was arrested for the kidnapping and murder of 26-year-old Venolia Skosana whose body was found in an advanced state of decomposition in the river at Khathazweni outside Hlogotlou on Thursday morning, 5 January 2023.
Woman kidnapped and murdered
Skosana, 26, was reported missing on Saturday, 31 December 2022, around 14:00.
The police immediately opened a missing person file at Hlogotlou Police Station.
Initial investigations revealed that the victim was last seen at Holnek village in the Zaaiplaas policing area. She was attending an event.
A team led by Hlogotlou Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ntoane Masuku operationalised information received. This lead to the arrest of the suspect and the discovery of the body.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, welcomed the arrest. He and thanked community members for their ongoing assistance in providing valuable information to the police.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in Nebo Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 6 January 2023.
He will appear on charges of kidnapping and murder.
Skhosana was reported missing after her mother left home and returned at around 14:00 on 31 December 2022 to find her missing.
Police began investigations, which revealed that she was last seen in Holnek village, in the Zaaiplaas policing area, where she was attending a ceremony.
