South Africans have been exposed to loadshedding for an unprecedented number of days in 2023 and were hit with stage 6 blackouts this week.

South Africans have been exposed to loadshedding for an unprecedented number of days in 2023 and were hit with stage 6 blackouts this week.
On Wednesday, 11 July Eskom upped the stages from four to six the Mail & Guardian reported.

According to Bloomberg, if it is implemented with stages 3 and 6 it could cost the South African economy between R204 million and R899 million a day.
In 2023 Eskom has implemented the blackouts every single day except for one. In total there has been 4079 hours of blackouts which equates to 170 days.
That’s based on the days measured in hours. ie. 170 days = 4079 hours / 24 published by The Outlier.
