The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed that singer Kelly Khumalo will not be testifying as yet in the murder trial of former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa.
State Prosecutor Advocate George Baloyi revealed tHIS at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.

As previously reported by The South African, Meyiwa was shot dead on 26 October 2014 at the home of his girlfriend and singer Kelly Khumalo in Vosloorus, Gauteng in an alleged botched robbery.
Meyiwa’s close friends Mthokozisi Thwala, Tumelo Madlala as well as Longwe Twala, singer Kelly Khumalo, her mother Ntombi Gladness Khumalo, her sister Zandie Khumalo and her two children Christian and Thingo were present when the goal keeper was shot and wounded.

On Monday, the defence continued to cross-examine Zandie Khumalo on her testimony and what transpired the day Meyiwa was shot and the days after the incident.
As legal representative for accused 4, Advocate Zithulele Nxumalo referred to a statement deposed by Kelly, Advocate Baloyi interjected and revealed that the State does not intend to call the Empini hitmaker at this stage to take the stand in the ongoing murder trial.
In response, Nxumalo said they intend on bringing an application to call Kelly to court.
Five men are on trial for the murder of the soccer star, Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Fisokuhle Nkani Ntuli. They face charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances, possession of firearms without a licence and possession of ammunition. All five men pleaded not guilty as the trial has started afresh.

Meanwhile, Kelly’s lawyer Magdalene Moonsamy has pulled out as her legal representative in the Meyiwa murder case.
Moonsamy has reportedly sent a notice of withdrawal to the NPA
The trial continues.
