Mamelodi Sundowns head coach has confirmed that the club and Gaston Sirino have made peace.

This striker returned to action for the first time this season and managed to rescue the game for the Brazilians against TS Galaxy.

Sirino scored a late goal to force the game into extra-time but Masandawana lost 5-4 on penalties after the Carling Knockout Cup match ended 2-2.

After the match, Mokwena said that he accepted Sirino’s apology.

The Uruguayan reportedly requested to leave the club before the transfer deadline last month but no ‘right’ offers were made to Downs.

“Life rewards you when you do good, the club did good by accepting his (Sirino) apology and the player also did good by apologising and recognising his wrongs,” Mokwena said as per Citizen.

“That’s how God and the universe works, when you do good, you get rewarded. He showed great resilience, positivity and a good attitude to help the team.”

Gaston Sirino joined Mamelodi Sundowns back in 2018 and flourished under then-coach Pitso Mosimane but has struggled since Mokwena took over.
