Young Afrikaans rap artist Angie Oeh lost her battle with stage 4 lung cancer.

She leaves behind her girlfriend Jolandri Van Der Walt, her mother, Peach van Pletzen, and close friends and collaborators.

Angie was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on 14 August 2023. After undergoing emergency surgery on 15 August, she underwent chemotherapy but faced complications after her second session on 18 August.
Her manager, Wynand Myburgh, said Angie, who was also known by her birth name Angelique Greeff, was admitted to Life Wilgers hospital in Pretoria on 13 August 2023.
SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH STAGE 4 LUNG CANCER SIX DAYS AGO
On 14 August 2023:
“Today, I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. I am scared. I am fucking scared. Every time I have a little time to think about it, I cry like a pussy,” she wrote in an Instagram post (originally written in Afrikaans) alongside a photo of her in hospital.
“How the f*** does something happen so fast without you knowing or feeling it. I am so sick that I must ask someone to hand me a bottle of water next to me. I am fucking 24.”
In 2022, she had a cancerous tumour, which measured 15cm in diameter, removed from her back.

SHE USED HER ART TO ADDRESS CRITICAL SOCIETAL ISSUES
On 23 July 2023 she posted:
“I am here because I want to leave behind something that matters only after that, I can perish.”
