The German tourist Nick Frischke is STILL missing after more than a year. He went missing on 15 February 2023.

IT HAS BEEN MORE THAN A YEAR THAT HE WENT MISSING

Police and volunteers have searched extensively for Frischke but to no avail.

The 1.75-metre-tall German national is athletic, having completed a climbing course and regularly competing in running races.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Eric Ntabazalila, stated that they charged Igshaan Fisher, Jason Abrahams, Vanroy Petersen, Carlo Guenantin, and Melvin Guenantin with robbery with aggravating circumstances.

The authorities found the five in possession of Frischke’s property

“They were found in possession of items belonging to German national Nick Frischke,” said the NPA spokesperson.

The State aims to prove that on 15 February 2023, near Hout Bay, the accused with common purpose assaulted Frischke. And forcefully took his belongings. These include a Redmi Note 8 Pro cellular phone and a backpack containing his bank card.

PROPERTY RECOVERED BUT NO SIGN OF NICK

As previously reported, someone found the German tourist’s ID document in Hangberg, Hout Bay, last year. People believe that Frischke, last seen in the Hout Bay area, attempted to hike one of the trails in the area alone.

Frischk’s family has since offered a R20 000 reward for information about his disappearance. His mother, Jana, had handed over DNA samples to police in June to assist with the investigation.

Meanwhile, a tourist recently reported seeing a young man who resembled Nick Frischke in Plettenberg Bay.

RECENT REPORTS OF A YOUNG MAN RESEMBLING FRISCHKE CAME UP EMTY-HANDED

The tourist reported that the young man appeared confused. He repeatedly said in German, ‘112 kommen, 112 kommen,’ which is an emergency number in Germany.

However, people believe someone sent the police and the NPA on a wild goose chase. Pursuing claims of Frischke being spotted in Plettenberg Bay.

Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie said police had provisionally followed up on the information but had come up empty-handed.

GERMAN TOURIST NICK FRISCHKE IS STILL MISSING

He said they followed up on the information that someone spotted the missing person in Plettenberg Bay with their Southern Cape Media Centre. As well as the Plettenberg Bay detectives, who reported that they had no record of the missing person being seen in their area.

“The question remains whether the visitors had reported their observation to the local police in order for them to immediately pursue the information.’

“The status quo remains (Frischke remains missing).”
