Five men arrested for possessing 63 illegal gambling machines

Five men were arrested when they were found to be in possession of illegal gambling equipment to the value of R439 000

On 4 March 2023, the JTG Crime Intelligence unit provided information to the Kuruman Public Order Policing unit, who then acted on the intelligence and arrested five men possessing illegal gambling machines.

Police find truck with 63 illegal gambling machines

The police noticed the suspects transporting the machines in a truck from Johannesburg to Kuruman and intercepted them at a petrol station in Kagung.

They flagged down the truck near Bosman Street in Kuruman and conducted a search, which resulted in the discovery and confiscation of:

  • 63 gambling machines
  • 154 coin inserters
  • 12 hoppers
  • 9 mother boards
  • 152 gambling machine speakers

The total value of the confiscated items was estimated at R439 000.
