Eskom says it will continue to implement Stage 3 load shedding until Thursday, 18 January.
The power utility had previously announced that it will implement Stage 3 and 4 rolling blackouts alternatively but reduced them to Stage 3 on Saturday.
LOAD SHEDDING SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK
In a brief statement, Eskom said due to the sustained generation performance and the recovery of emergency reserves for the week ahead, Stage 3 loadshedding will continue to be implemented until 05:00 on Thursday, 18 January 2024.
“Eskom Power Station General Managers and their teams are working diligently to ensure that the 2 721MW of generating capacity is returned to service by Wednesday,”the power utility said.

Eskom said planned outages which are implemented to improve the reliability of the generation fleet are currently at 8 843MW whilst unplanned outages are at 13 981MW of generating capacity.
“Eskom will continue to monitor the power system closely and communicate should any significant changes occur,” Eskom said.
