Eskom says it will implement Stage 1 and 2 load shedding alternatively until further notice.
The embattled power utility had suspended rolling blackouts for an extended period citing various reasons.
On Tuesday, Eskom said Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 16:00 on Tuesday until 05:00 the next day, thereafter,Stage 1 will be implemented.
“The setback experienced in returning two generating units to service as well as the loss of three generating units necessitated Stage 2 load shedding from today,” the power utility said.

Eskom said unplanned outages are currently at 14 953 MW of generating capacity, while the capacity out of service for planned maintenance is 7 638 MW.
“Eskom power stations managers and their teams are working tirelessly to ensure 2 700 MW of generating capacity is returned to service before the end of the week.”
