Eskom says it will implement Stage 1 and 3 load shedding alternatively this week.
The power utility previously announced that it will be implementing Stage 1 and 2 alternatively but ramped up load shedding to Stage 3 on Sunday morning.
LOAD SHEDDING SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK
In a statement, Eskom said it ramped up load shedding to Stage 3 due to the shortage of generation capacity and the need to manage emergency reserves.
Furthermore, the power utility said Stage 3 will remain in force until 05:00 on Monday, thereafter Stage 2 would be implemented until 16:00. Stage 3 will then be implemented until 05:00 on Tuesday, 21 November.
“Stage 1 and 3 will alternate in the morning and afternoon from Tuesday until Wednesday,” the power utility said.

Meanwhile, unplanned outages amount to 16 246MW of generating capacity and this includes delays at the Lethabo Power Station while planned maintenance amounts to 6 606MW of generating capacity.
