EFF reject proposed 15 December holiday

The EFF have accused Ramaphosa of riding a wave of Springbok victory and failed to give the country a proper public holiday

The Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) has vehemently rejected President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement of a public holiday on 15 December.

Ramaphosa made the announcement on Monday night.

A HOLIDAY WITH A HOLIDAY

The red berets have labelled the President as opportunistic and says that the date of the public holiday already falls within the holiday.

“A majority of labour intensive industries are already closed, schools are closed and many South Africans are home with their families”, says Thambo.

FINAL EXAMS

The special public holiday has been created to celebrate the Springboks, who triumphed over New Zealand with a narrow 11-12 victory and retain their title of Rugby World Cup champions.

The general public had assumed that Monday, 30 October would be declared a public holiday, however Ramaphosa says matric examinations have to be considered.

However the EFF says if matrics are being were being considered, loadshedding would be suspended.

“If he truly cared for the well being of the learners writing their exams then he and his incompetent government would suspend loadshedding so that learners can study”, EFF spokesperson Sinawo Thambo says.
