The home-owner is believed to have encountered a group of males and reacted swiftly when clocking the danger. A gunfight ensued between both parties, but the target was able to fight back – even if it was at the expense of two lives. Police are now investigating the circumstances behind the harrowing incident:

  • A multiple shooting took place on Grace Avenue in Westville, Durban at 6:45 on Wednesday morning.
  • Two suspects were shot dead, one is ‘critical’ in hospital, and the other managed to escape.
  • The gang was discovered on the property by the homeowner, who subsequently drew his gun and opened fire.
  • Charges of robbery, attempted murder, and an inquest have been opened at Westville police station for investigation.
