Another day, another drug bust at one of South Africa’s airports.
EWN reports that the bust happened on Tuesday with Sars customs officials intercepting cocaine worth over R2 million.
Eight laptop bags with hidden compartments were discovered inside a passenger’s luggage. A powdery substance which tested positive for cocaine was discovered.
According to reports, the woman was travelling from Brazil to Mozambique. She denied owning the package at first, but has since been arrested.
“Sars customs officials and the Detective Dog Unit intercepted 9.16kg of cocaine and the suspect and the goods have been handed over to the police for further investigation.”
The airport has been in the headlines for a number of drug busts, but also for a huge heist.
